Co-ordination of health and safety at DEKRA

 

The commission of construction works, for several contracting companies, requires the investor to define the scope of protection with reference to Occupational Health and Safety and to co-ordinate observance thereof.

 

These tasks are assumed by DEKRA specialists who monitor whether health and safety regulations are being observed during the construction works and that the safety of the works being carried out is maintained.

 

 

As part of the OHS co-ordination service, DEKRA specialists also verify the methodology of construction works.

 

DEKRA services in the field of health and safety

 

By taking over the responsibilities of the investor in the field of health and safety, DEKRA supervises the preparation of the BIOZ plan for the protection of health and safety. This Plan takes into account the details of the construction of the building being planned and the conditions under which such construction will be carried out; any changes introduced into it, resulting from the progress of works, will also be monitored by DEKRA specialists.

As part of health and safety services, DEKRA co-ordinates implementation of those tasks aimed at preventing the occurrence of threats to health and safety in the development of technical or organisational assumptions of planned construction works in their individual stages.

 

Other DEKRA tasks include:

• implementation of the recommendations of the National Labour Inspectorate,
• co-ordination of activities preventing unauthorised access to the construction site and issuing guidelines specifying the regulation of traffic and transport at the construction site during works undertaken by the tenants themselves.
• conducting paid, health and safety training sessions for contractors and tenants before entering the construction site, in the case of irregularities or missing documents
• ensuring availability of information for contractors and tenants on any threats to health and safety during works on the building site, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Economy and Labour of 27 July 2004 on OHS training.
